 Fender Squier Telecaseter

  fender-squier-tele

In this guitar review we will look at the Fender Squier Telecaster. The Fender Squier Telecaster body is made out of agathis wood. The neck is made of maple and you can get either a rosewood or maple fret board. This guitar has a bolt on style neck with 22 frets. There are two Alnico single coil pickups. Controlling the sound is a single volume knob and a single tone knob and 1 three way switch.

Upon taking the guitar from the box you may have to do some slight adjustments to the saddles or action. This is not uncommon on instruments but something to be aware of. We have heard that on some of these teles the frets are rough but we did not experience this.

This guitar plays great the action is responsive and clean. The neck feels smooth and fast. Small hands should have no problems makes chords on this neck. The sound of this electric guitar is very good. You can get your country twang or grungy rock with absolutely no trouble what so ever. The guitar is pleasing to look at in the traditional tele style. There really isn’t much else to say about this other then it’s a great overall guitar. If you factor in the price then this guitar is out of this world. This guitar is great for any level of player. Of all the guitar reviews we have done in this price range this is by far the best of the bunch.

 Schecter Omen 6

schecter review schecter omen 6 guitar reviews

The Schecter Omen 6 has a body that is made of mahogany. The guitars neck is made of mahogany as well and it has a bolt on neck. The Omen 6 has a rosewood fret board with dotted in lays and 22 jumbo frets. The tuners are Diamond brand with a tail piece that is a string through the body type. The Omen has 2 Humbucker pickups that are Duncan designed. The bridge pickup is an hb-102 with the neck pickup being a sc-102. This guitar comes in black and walnut satin.

This guitar can be a little heavy and can weigh you down after playing it for a very long time. It is not horrible but something to bear in mind. The pickup sounds can be a little muddy and flat. The sound is good when played with distortion but we thought playing it clean needed some work.

Make no mistake this is a really good guitar and this hard rock shredding machine that does kick butt. The action is great. The neck feels very good. It is slim and very easy to get around. In the face of the muddy pickups this guitar manages to sound very good over all. It has a very lustrous look and screams heavy metal. I would not recommend this guitar for a 50’s or early 60’s type gig but for most other rock songs this will fair you well. This would not be a bad guitar for a beginner or an intermediate player. A good solid guitar and a very good price.

 Fender Squier Statocaster

  fender-squier-strat

In this fender review we will look at the Squier Stratocaster. The Fender Squier Stratocaster has a body of agathis wood. The agathis wood is a lower grade of wood from your normal electric guitar woods such as ash, alder and mahogany. The agathis wood is grown and imported from asian countries and tends to run towards a mahogany type sound. The guitar neck is a bolt on style. You can get either a rosewood fret board or a maple fret board. The Squier strat has three alnico single coil pickups. The guitar has 1 volume knob 2 tone knobs and your standard fender strat five way switch.

The sound on this electric guitar is ok. The sound is nothing that will make you stand up and take notice. In fact this Stratocaster’s sound tends to run a little thin and the pickups can be noisy. The playability of this guitar is very good the neck is small and easy to get around and is perfect for beginners. This is a very nice looking guitar. The finish is very well done no noticeable overspray of anything like that Over all this is a good electric guitar for the money. We would not recommend this for advance or intermediate guitar players. However for beginners this is a good solid guitar that has a nice action and an ok sound. The price tag on this guitar makes it a great deal and makes it easy to look over the few short comingsit has.

  Empiphone Les Paul 100

empiphone review empiphone les paul 100 guitar reviews

This review we looked at the Empiphone Les Paul 100. This Empiphone has a body that is made out of mahogany with a maple top. Epiphone offers this guitar model in three colors vintage sun burst, heritage cherry and ebony. The Les Paul 100 has a bolt on neck not a fixed neck liked the Empiphone Les Paul standard. This guitar has a rosewood fret board with dot inlays. The guitar also comes with chrome tuners and a tuneomatic bridge. The electronics in this guitar include two humbucker picks. The pickups are a 650r and a 700t open coil pickup. This guitar has the standard control knob setting for a Les Paul two volume knobs and two tone knobs.

This is a pretty good guitar. Feel this would be best suited for a beginner to an intermediate guitar player. There are times when this guitar does have some tuning issue mostly remaining in tune. We have heard a slight buzz in and around the 6th fret area. The guitar sound is not bad but the pickups are a little weak.

As far as the looks of this guitar it is a really head turner. There can be no question this is a very nice looking electric guitar. The fit and finish of this guitar is top notch and we did not see any sort of blemishes. The neck feels very nice when playing and the action is very good. This is a comfortable instrument to play. The sustain on this Les Paul is not bad either. We felt the tone was decent despite the thinness of the pickups. As we said this is a beginner to intermediate instrument. Should you acquire this guitar as a beginner it should have little or no trouble seeing you through to your jamming days.
